We do know that God knows quite well how many appendages any animal has, and we also know that, at least in the languages I know something about, we aren't always exact, as in calling millipedes millipedes, as if they really did have 100 legs.

Thanks for your comment, and your research.Martin LaBarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629053725732957599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9661811.post-76928044546606622412009-07-22T17:10:43.424-04:002009-07-22T17:10:43.424-04:00This is what I mean: http://hetrulycomes.blogspot....This is what I mean: http://hetrulycomes.blogspot.com/2009/07/whats-creeping-fowl-going-on-all-four.htmlHetrulycomeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17014314934649947995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9661811.post-62329602913905484242009-02-18T05:40:00.000-05:002009-02-18T05:40:00.000-05:00I'm not sure what your question means, but I would...I'm not sure what your question means, but I would suggest that you read the other comments on this blog, as they may be of help.

Thanks.Martin LaBarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629053725732957599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9661811.post-30343861011521054012009-02-17T14:50:00.000-05:002009-02-17T14:50:00.000-05:00Excuse me, friends. We might say that insects or millipedes go about on all fours.

The second source seems a little strained to me. The author claims that the Hebrews didn't count the back pair of legs as legs, or at least not as being the same as the front two pairs. Maybe so, but I've got my doubts as to whether that's what caused "four" to be used here.

I think my point remains. We commonly say things that aren't literally true. So does the Bible, since it was written to speak to humans, and some of the numbers in the Old Testament weren't meant to be taken literally.Martin LaBarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629053725732957599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9661811.post-1142966196363409122006-03-21T13:36:00.000-05:002006-03-21T13:36:00.000-05:00Thanks, Adam.
