I remember that Tolkien disliked the Narnia storyline and also the overt, clear allegories that Lewis would write ... he preferred something that is fundamentally, deeply Christian, without the explicit symbolism. I think this was something contentious between the two. Do you recall anything like that? I know that the Lord of the Rings, while never explicitly Christian (obviously) is indeed profoundly Christian. I've got an audio lecture by Peter Kreeft (Catholic Philosopher) in which each element of the Apostle's Creed is identified in the LOTR. It's very interesting!Davidnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9661811.post-84405619678950916862012-06-12T22:12:41.591-04:002012-06-12T22:12:41.591-04:00Thanks, Kerry i am.Thanks, Kerry i am.Martin LaBarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629053725732957599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9661811.post-19671050724899766122012-06-12T13:52:42.330-04:002012-06-12T13:52:42.330-04:00Great insight!
