While I don't doubt the premise of the "drilling and mining of fossil fuels" may be causing seismic activity … it appears as if the "study" started with "Fossil Fuel Mining Is Causing Earthquakes."
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't appear this was a conclusion deduced, rather a pre-supposed thesis.
I don't follow you here, atlibertytosay. The report says that the study started with observations of increased earthquake activity, and then found a possible cause, and it wasn't just fossil fuel mining, but wastewater disposal, that seemed to be causing the earthquakes.

How I read it … it seems they wanted to make the link between man and seismic activity … so they only took their research from that angle.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, atlibertytosay, but I just read it again, and the report says, as I read it, that the researchers noticed more earthquakes than usual, and then started looking for a cause.
