Things I have recently spotted that may be of interest to others*:

Environment: A Conversation writer says that there is a giant mass of Sargassum seaweed hitting the beaches of Florida and nearby areas.

Science: Gizmodo reports that an elephant has learned to be selective in which banana parts to discard, and which to eat. (includes video)

A Conversation writer discusses the question of why trees die.
