Sunspots 314

Things I have recently spotted that may be of interest to someone else:

Humor: Wired reports on a professor's attempt to classify all jokes (A Venn diagram is included). Seriously.

Science: Robots may be subject to selection for  unselfishness, according to  a report in  ScienceNow.

Christianity:  Henry Neufeld on the Second Coming: "The fact is that we’ve been proclaiming 'soon,' in the [sense] of 'just around the corner' for so long, that it no longer sounds very convincing."

I've been reading that the intended consequence of "Jack Van Impe & Family Radio" is to convert by shock as soon as possible.

A True Christian's acceptance of Christ and the ultimate meaning is a lifelong process not a one time affirmation - contrary to mega-churches weekly tally bragging.

Thanks, atlibertytosay. I didn't realize that Jack Van Impe was associated with the group who are proclaiming that the second coming will occur today. Yes, following Christ requires a lifetime commitment.
